Practicalities of Embodiment

What a way to complicate such a simple headline, right? Practicalities, sure, everyone needs practical ways to complete tasks. But, Embodiment? I've seen this word used a lot recently and I have to admit, it makes me cringe just a bit.

Embodiment is an integral part of healing and manifesting, yet its not a word that's used in everyday conversations, and if you're not familiar with the lingo of spirituality, emotional healing, etc, then this can make the entire concept feel foreign,

That was a tiny look into my experience, so let's see what the big deal is, shall we?

To embody something is to make it tangible (ie - results). To become the who or what you want for your future self is the route we're taking this conversation.

When someone looks to redefined life, a more fulfilling life that fits their vision, they look for something tangible, right? So, when doing the work to achieve the tangible result, you assume that the work will be within your realm of comfort and ease. Well, this isn't the case when we're talking about transforming who you've been to who you want to be.

There is so much more to it than simple mindset hacks. So much inner work that is required to achieve the results you want. For every person the work will be different and embodiment might feel more at ease than for someone else, yet i want you to understand this..

- if trying to create the life you want from a place of pain, you will face resistance and challenges. it won't be easy. healing doesn't end. It's a life-long decision that will continue to push you out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. you have to be prepared to face the discomfort because what's waiting for you on the other side is a whole new world of ease, freedom and happiness. Healing the trauma that's been imprinted on your psyche is part of the transformation; and one that you can't bypass.

- Affirmations, grounding & journal practices are all important aspects to becoming a new you, yet they don't stand alone. All of these things are building blocks to becoming more in-tune with yourself, helping you to learn more about the inner workings of your thoughts, feelings, recognizing how your body reacts to your inner world, etc. They don't act alone, yet work in conjunction with many other moving parts.

- if you don't believe it, it won't happen. This was where i fell short for a long time. I did the work, I healed from my past, meditated for all the 'right' reasons, hired mentors to help me, said the affirmations - all of it, yet i wasn't seeing the results that i wanted for one very important reason.

I didn't believe i was worthy of having all that i dreamt of. this one thing became a stopping point for me for years.

i said all the right things to myself (self talk is massive!), I read all the best books on the subject, i hired the best mentors, i healed deeper than i ever imagined i could, yet essentially, i fell short.

I can not reiterate this enough - you have to believe you are worthy of the life you crave. period.

no one or nothing can do the work for you and no one can make you see your worth if you don't feel it to your core. You will forever be held prisoner of your own mind unless you start to see who you are in your entirety - worthy, capable and all your bad-assery overflowing from the goodness, passion & drive you carry in your heart.

You know i believe in fairy tales and that we can absolutely have everything we desire, but i won't pretend that you don't have to do the work to get there. No one who has ever succeeded in their dream has ever done so without making their dream come true.
